Oh Oriental Trading… Somebody somewhere is very excited that you finally carry Urine Sample noise putty. And your description writers nailed it.

Team of the week: How can it be any group other than Minnesota? As I was reminded in the wake of the Gophers’ 30-14 throttling of Michigan at the Big House, even my preseason best-case scenario for Minnesota did not include a win over the Wolverines. Clearly, I forgot to account for the possibility of a full-blown Michigan meltdown. But that’s not what led to the Gophers’ second win in the past 24 years of this series; Minnesota earned this. David Cobb rushed for 183 yards against a defense that entered the game ninth nationally against the run. Minnesota held Michigan to 171 yards.

Finally an honest account of the game. To me the Gophers are definitely on the upswing (have been for three seasons), but I don’t consider them a favorite in the West (yet). I want to see where they are after the Iowa game before we’ll know for sure.

So WatchESPN has a multiview function so you can watch four games at once. Awesome.

Today’s the day. The day you help save the internet from being ruined.

Ready?

Yes, you are, and we’re ready to help you.

(Long story short: The FCC is about to make a critical decision as to whether or not internet service providers have to treat all traffic equally. If they choose wrong, then the internet where anyone can start a website for any reason at all, the internet that’s been so momentous, funny, weird, and surprising—that internet could cease to exist. Here’s your chance to preserve a beautiful thing.)

Minnesota State Fair Day 5: Sights
Just a short day today. Showed up late and hit mostly the Eco Building. My parents were intrigued by the sustainable home products and the electric car. Also some taxidermy at the West End Market.

Minnesota State Fair Day 5: Food
Walleye Cakes, Roasted Corn, and hot waffle ice cream sandwich

Minnesota State Fair Day 4: Sights
DNR Building, Home Improvement Building with the folks, Prairie Home Companion, and fireworks

Minnesota State Fair Day 4: Food
Cream Puffs, cheese curd value bucket, walleye in a bun, more Sweet Martha’s.
Would’ve eaten more, but the stupid rain limited our willingness to explore the fairgrounds.
